Sumptuously soft, The Campbell Collection's hand-tufted rugs are made of naturally dyed 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. They make a cosy centrepiece to any space, especially suited to bedrooms or smaller living rooms. These shaggy rugs are made by artisans in Bhadohi, or otherwise known as ‘Carpet City’. Siga Siga means slowly slowly in Greek. The Campbell Collection chooses to produce in a slow and more thoughtful way, using processes that are kinder to the earth and it's inhabitants.
Designer: The Campbell Collection
Size:3' x 5' / 91cm x 152cm
Made in: Chunar, India
Method: This flat weave design is woven in organic cotton using a pit loom and is created by interlocking warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads. Rugs woven using this method do not have a pile and are reversible. A pit loom is literally hung over a pit dug out of the ground, and provides a comfortable seating position for the weaver. The pit creates ideal conditions for cotton weaving as it responds much better to humid conditions, preventing the yarn from becoming brittle and snapping.
"We believe is time for us as global citizens to take stock, to think about the bigger picture and do things differently. As a brand we will continually strive to source materials and use processes that allow the earth to thrive and not just survive. Within our interior and lifestyle collections we have used organic cotton, organic linen, pure silk and recycled cotton paper.
Choosing to make products in a more thoughtful and slow way means that we are able to help create sustainable employment for artisans all over India." The Campbell Collection
Larger volumes may incur a 3-7 day lead time as the rugs are made to order.
