Our charities

As well as championing independent textile designers and makers through our Haines Curates platform, we also support social and environmental charities and the passionate people and big ideas behind them!

The Woodland Trust and Waste Aid are our chosen environmental charities, this means we send a regular monthly donation to them and their essential environmental causes. Since we've been working with Ecologi, a tree has also been planted for every order we’ve received! You can check out our forest here.

We’re also really proud to support a variety of social enterprises. Love Welcomes works with refugee women in camps and those that have been resettled by providing crafting workshops and life skills training. We stock a selection of their handmade products, with each sale supporting their vital work.

We also shine a light on the amazing work of Furnishing Futures - a charity that works with women and children affected by domestic abuse and/or are experiencing furniture poverty. By working with interior designers and brands, they source surplus furniture and home accessories to furnish homes which will support the emotional and physical health of those who have been rehoused, break the cycle of poverty and improve life chances. They also accept donations from the public - we were really pleased to donate lampshades to them last year which have now found a lovely new home.

We’ve also donated fabric samples to the University of the Arts London for student projects! Education and understanding is so important if we want to see real, authentic change.

The drive behind starting Haines was to provide opportunities for established textile designers to dispose of waste, excess and defective fabrics in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way. This is the same for textile manufacturers, sellers and interior designers. Not only that, we’re really lucky to work with a number of suppliers who send profits of their fabric donations to charities of their choice.

We’re always on the lookout for organisations to work with, so if that’s you or you know someone we should know about, get in touch!
