The Circular Economy

The Circular Economy

Illustrated so beautifully by Circle For Purpose, creating a Circular Economy really is the answer to (ultimately) stopping waste.

Buy-back schemes are a wonderful initiative that brands can offer customers to stop waste and implement a Circular Economy. With the success of our curtain sale and looking into returnable samples, schemes like this are high up on our priority list, taking full responsibility for our products even once they are sold.

To give you some examples of how other brands are implementing this structure, I've chosen four of my favorites below:

IKEA

IKEA has set the bar within the interiors industry as the first international brand who buys back your old furniture in exchange for a voucher up to 50% of the furniture's original price. These items are sold in selected stores in their 'Circular Hubs.' For the extra personal touch, which I love, each piece of furniture is accompanied with a label filled in by the previous owner sharing their history.

APPLE

Apple will happily accept your old device, whatever state it's in. If they are able to resell it they will offer you credit to spend in store, but if not, they will take the product off your hands and recycle it turning it into something good!

WALKERS

WALKERS
Walkers have set up hundreds of drop off points across the country and will accept any brands crisp packet. After cleaning the packets, Walkers shred them and turn them into products such as outdoor furniture, trays, and flooring!

MAC MAKE-UP

MAC MAKE-UP
If you return six MAC primary packaging containers to one of the MAC stores you can bag yourself a brand new lipstick. How good is that!? Not only a hugely generous offer but you are doing good. And I love the name!
Please do send any other brands you are aware of doing great things! We love to hear and share.
