How To Use Counter Curtains In Your Home

How To Use Counter Curtains In Your Home

Counter curtains are a timeless and versatile design choice that combines charm and functionality, and they've been making a stylish comeback in home interiors for a little while now. Although we love them, we’ve recently been inspired by the not-so-traditional ways of incorporating them in your home. To get some inside scoop, we spoke to 3 Interior Designers to get their thoughts on using counter curtains around the home.

We love using counter curtains and tend to use them in areas of the home where there are hard finishes and not many soft furnishings (ie a utility room to cover a washing machine or a WC to hide a pedestal basin and add a bit of storage). We find adding counter curtains adds a lovely softness to a space, whilst also providing an opportunity to add another colour or pattern into the scheme” - Sascal Studio

"Here, the curtains hide the washer and dryer as part of this small utility space. We used all reclaimed materials - the worktop and sink are from an old school lab, the tiles are reclaimed Spanish floor tiles and the lovely Fermoie fabric was left over from a previous project. The cost was a fraction of the price of fitted furniture and has so much more life and joy. It almost makes doing the laundry a pleasure…almost!" - Jen from Parsnip Interior Design

"Wherever possible we reuse even the smallest scraps of fabric within our designs. From the offcuts we create something new like this sweet little counter curtain which was the perfect hiding spot for the messy kitchen hoover!" - Rebecca Simmons
