One of the oldest patterns in history, the Paisley is likened in shape to a tear drop or mango. Originally called ‘both jejheh’, Paisley was created as a motif for a religious movement known as Zoroastrianism. The design was supposed to represent the Cypress Tree, their symbol for everlasting life.
